Linden Village

Linden Village

The Linden Village is a Subcontinent located in North-East Sansara. It is a later addition to the grid.

History[]

At some point, the Lindens decided to be more present in the virtual world. They wanted to build this village as a place where people could find them more easily and where they could speak with the residents about their projects. However, as time passed, the village was left behind. Not many activity can be seen today there.

Structure[]

The subcontinent is made of 10 sims. Three of them, named like Help Island Public and Orientation Island Public, are designed for new residents. The other sims have a more complex status.

Geography[]

Linden Village Altitude

Altitude map

The subcontinent is divided in 10 sims. Interestingly, each sim consists of a big, central island. There are mountain islands (like Denby, Beaumont or Levenhall) and plain islands (like Havenhurst, Longfellow or Cirano). Ground texture is different in each sim, varying from sand, grass, to stone. Vegetation is present too.

There are many interesting buildings to see.

An interesting aspect is that sea level is 20 m high (like all seas in Second Life) but during the altitude survey it was found that sea level in Orientation Island Public was 10 m at the time of survey.

Land Status[]

The subcontinent is Linden-owned. The three islands in South are made for public access, while the other seven appear to be made of parcels designed for the Lindens themselves. Various Linden accounts own parcels. One can find ban lines blocking the way in certain areas.

Access[]

Visitors can visit the islands by teleporting and flying. This subcontinent is not a good destination for sailing or airplane flying. No transport company operates within the area.
